A-Number-1 Banana Cake

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
Big hit with everyone. I used sour cream instead of buttermilk and used the Hersheys icing recipe on the back of the cocoa box. I also sliced some bananas in the middle of the cake. YUMMY.

Sloppy Joes

It is a good base recipe. I used less ketchup, honey BBQ sauce, Italian seasoning, onion powder, and a little mustard. I don't think I will ever be buying the can stuff again. For a side I cut up a couple red potatoes, tossed them with vegetable oil, Mrs. Dash and a touch of salt. YUMMY! I cut them small enough so it only took about 15 minutes on 400.

Chocolate Bliss Chunk Cookies

Good cookies overall. Mine did come out a tiny bit cakey. Maybe I used a tiny bit too much baking soda?? Still very good and will definitely bake again.

Applesauce Pork Loin

This was good. It's not the crispy outside/juicy inside tenderloin I am used to. It wasn't anything wonderful, but it was okay. Not sure if I will make again.

Blooming Onion

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2009
okay. The flavor was good, but it wasn't very clear on how to bloom the onion. I cut only the top off, cut all the way down when cutting across, and put it in HOT water for it to bloom. The bottom of the onion helped to keep the onion together. I would suggest bread crumbs for the second flouring.

Cola Pork Chops

I liked them, but they seemed like they needed a little something extra. I put them in the crock pot and added a little barbeque sauce along with the kethchup. That helped. I'll probably try them again sometime.

Chewy Chocolate Cookies II

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2009
I really liked these. I wanted some cookies but didn't have any chocolate chips. I left out the nuts and put a full cup of cocoa powder in them and they are yummy. Almost like a brownie, but not. They turned out perfect. Didn't stick to the greased cookie sheet. I will keep this recipe in the books! **UPDATE** I kept these cookies in a container on the counter and they lasted a long while (I made a lot!). They stayed soft and chewy. Some people said they got better every day! Love these cookies!!

Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake II

Really moist and yummy. I added an extra tablespoon of cocoa powder as someone suggested and made my own icing, but this was a big hit.
