Married with two grown daughters and 5 grandchildren (3 boys, 1 girl, and one due in April '09). We have a pug named Baby, and 2 cats - KiKi and Harley. My husband, Joel and I married in October of 2001, and I "inherited" another daughter, who is now 22! I am the office manager for Florida's largest fire ant control company, and I love sites like this where I can interact and not be concerned about internet safety! I enjoy throwing things together to come up with something different. I love using lots of garlic and olive oil - and that's super for your heart! Stir-frying is a fave for my fresh veggies. You'd be amazed at the stuff you can stir-fry! Get creative! The worst that can happen is that you have to pick some stuff out before serving. :) I always loved large family dinners where everyone chipped in and brought stuff - no matter who hosted it. Thanksgiving was a treat when my children were little and we had such a big family to share with. And that's a lot of help in the kitchen afterward!!! I think mastering the family recipe for spaghetti sauce and meatballs was my biggest triumph. When I served my parents in my home and they said it was the best they'd ever tasted. I will never forget that moment! :) I learned the hard way to check your seasonings before pouring when you live in humid climates! Weevils (little black crawly things) form in flour, spices, and anything else that is dry. They caused me to ruin an entire pot of sauce!
