Cream of Mushroom and Soy Sauce Pork Chops

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
I ended up rubbing minced onion and garlic powder into the chops before marinating, and then marinated overnight. I slow cooked 6 pork chops (they were about 3/4" thick) for 4 hours on low and they turned out GREAT. I thought, as usual, that I'd need a steak knife for my pork chop but when I stabbed it with a fork it just fell apart! Hubby says we must have again.. but next time I think I'll try some more spices. It did seem a little bit bland.

Mojito Sorbet

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
Not the best I've ever had.. I used more mint than it called for and I still can't taste the mint. I love sour, and this is even too much for me.. its hard to eat without puckering! I probably won't make it again.

Pink Grapefruit Blueberry Sorbet

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
Instead of using grapefruit juice, I used a 24 ounce jar of grapefruit segments and juice and I also subbed the blueberries for a mix of raspberries, marionberries, and blueberries. I blended everything and put it into my icecream maker for 20 minutes and it turned out WONDERFUL!! Its already half gone after less than 24 hours :)

Country-Style Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
I agree the taste of this was good.. Instead of including the corn (my family would think I was punishing them!) I just doubled the stuffing, and added some carrot slices. 6-7 hours in the slow cooker I thought was too long though.. next time I think I'll only put them in for 4-5 hours.. They looked/smelled done at that point, and while they were still moist inside, the outside of the chops after 6 hours ended up being dry. I will make it again though- very easy to make and had wonderful flavor!

Traditional Gyro Meat

Reviewed: May 14, 2009
Really really good. My fiance and I had been craving gyros and love to cook and try new things, so we decided to give it a shot. Only thing we think we'd change is more garlic and more salt. Other than that-- excellent! We ate it ALL!

Salmon Marinade

Reviewed: May 9, 2009
This turned out pretty tasty, but still seemed like it needed something. It was extremely moist which was a plus. I did add some garlic to it, next time I think I'll add more. I also reduced the worcestershire sauce a bit, but I think next time I'd follow the recipe on that because we thought it could use more of that flavor. I'll probably make it again either way, and experiment. Good base to play with.

Double Layer Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
This was a really nice twist on pumpkin pie. I don't even like pumpkin pie, OR whipped cream, but I ate most of it myself! It was nice to have something that tasted a lot like pumpkin pie without having to bake it. I'll make it again I'm sure.

White Chicken Enchilada Slow-Cooker Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
A great turn in a different direction for slow cooking! It was easy to make it just made TOO much we thought.. my fiance and I ate on it for days. I added some jalapenos to the sauce and we topped it with sour cream and salsa when we ate it. I also did 1/2 monterey jack cheese and 1/2 medium cheddar. I'm for sure making this again, just maybe making less of it :)

Slow Cooker Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
We did not care for this recipe at all. Was bland, and tasted like someone just poured orange soda on it. I won't make it again.

Slow Cooker Chicken Cordon Bleu

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
This turned out WONDERFUL. I took a risk and made it for us and some company and took the advice of others and rolled the chicken, cheese, and ham together before placing it in the slow cooker. I also added seasonings to the soup mixture (garlic, onion, a little thyme) so it wouldn't be bland. I used black forest ham lunchmeat which I thought tasted really good in it and wasn't too salty. I waited until the last hour of cooking time to put in the stuffing. I can't find anything to complain about- there were NO leftovers. Absolutely delicious.

Mexican Pizza II

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
This was an AWESOME idea.. I just wish I'd used smaller tortillas. They didn't crisp up as well as I would have liked in the oven (could be my oven too). Was a nice twist on mexican food for us that was easy and easier cleanup than just tacos or burritos. I think I'll make this again regularly.

Black and Bleu Chicken Alfredo

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
We used chunky bleu cheese dressing in this and I put a few more tomatoes in than it calls for (I like them) and some garlic it was really really good.. my fiance and I love rich foods and this was not only easy to make but reheated well (I thought). The only complaint I have is that it made WAY too much. We ended up throwing away some of the leftovers just because we had eaten it 3 times already. Next time I'll half the recipe. Won't make it often (too fattening) but will make the rotation again sometime :)

Easy Italian Sausage Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
Easy to make, but needed much more sauce than recommended (I thought). It was OK, but nothing spectacular. I will probably still make it again just because it was so quick to make! I used 2 jars of spaghetti sauce and a large can of tomato sauce.
