Hot Fudge Sauce I
It is hot fudge! This is a creamier recipe. I would compare the consistency with "Mrs. Richardson's" hot fudge. Some of the others I've used with white sugar have been good but then have a grainy consistency when cold. I would compare those with "Hershey's" hot fudge. I'm a sweet tooth and this is pretty sweet. I did use 3 ounces of unsweetened baking chocolate and then for the heck of it, added in 1 tbsp. of unsweetened baking cocoa.

Pickled Asparagus
This was my first pickling venture & this was an easy to follow recipe. What I pickled was Elephant Garlic spears. They taste somewhat like asparagus with a garlic flavor. Our local market is selling these. They look like very thin asparagus with an unopened flower bulb. I love these and the season is short so I thought I would pickle them. It worked out really well. I used a pickling spice sold at the store. This was a lot of fun and went really fast. I read some of the reviews and took the advice to pack them as tight as I could. I was afraid that the 20 minute processing time would make them mushy, but not at all.

Hopi Corn Stew
I have this in the crock pot right now. I love hominy. I read the reviews about cumin and have time to add that if I want. I did end up chopping up garlic and adding without realizing it wasn't in the recipe. For some reason I had it in my head I wouldn't like it with the canned tomatoes but it's great. I think with just one tablespoon of chili powder this has some zing (and I'm a 4 star thai kind of person too). I added just one because my kids aren't into spicy food yet.
