I am a retired 60 from Chicago. my husband and I have been sailing on our 48'sloop for 18 years. We dropped final anchor in the Essequibo River, and built a home in the lush jungles of that river, in Guyana. I have learned and enjoyed the challenges of cooking in a small galley at sea. My husband pasted 2 yrs. ago.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking foods I have enjoyed from various countries traveled.
India, Dalh; Japan, sushi; Asia, stir-fry; and the Caribbean, fresh vegetables; Chicago, Chili; I love chicken cooked a thousand ways.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our family cook-outs. Everyone in the family has a special recipe, and that is what they bring. My brother-in-law, ribs and his sauce!
My cooking triumphs
My first duck ... I used a recipe I questioned, because it was cooked on a bed of salt. I served it on Thanksgiving.
My cooking tragedies
I am not successful in frying anything. Every effort is a tragedy.
