I am a very blessed mother of four great children, engaged to a very attentive, loving man. I enjoy taking care of and feeding my hungry family. My favorite dishes to cook is baked macaroni and cheese and coca-cola chicken. I get the biggest smiles, cleanest pots, and fullest bellies when I prepare those dishes. My family doesn't really have favorite dishes but they always love the southern style of cooking that my elders adopted from Mississippi. The time and love that they put in the food just create the best family times. There is always a desire in me to learn all of the gestures and movements that my grandmother and great-grandmother use when cooking big meals. One might say that gestures and movements have nothing to do with taste but trust me, they do. I managed to learn favorite recipes from my great-grandmother before she passed, that my grandmother can't even duplicate.(like chicken'N dumplins, breadpudding, and fried pies) The beginning! Fresh out of my mom's house and into my own home with my child. I didn't know I actually knew how to cook. Everything I cooked, my daughter practically threw it back at me! It took a couple of years before I started retrieving the subliminal cooking methods that had been developed in early childhood. (Go Figure!)
