I am more of a baker than a cook. I love to bake and always have requests for some of my favorte baked goods. I also support our local schools by making baked goods and letting the schools raffle them.
I have also taken several Wilton cake decorating classes and a Panoramic egg class. That was fun.
My favorite things to cook
Mini baked goods, I love to make mini muffins, loaves, and cakes.
I also like to bake Cookies, brownies, full size cakes and have tried baking breads also. Still experimenting with that one.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving, Christmas and summer block parties.
We have a big family and go all out for the big holidays. cook for a week and eat for a week.
Thanksgiving favorites are homemade stuffing, pumpkin pies, I can make a good pie crust. pumpkin cheesecake, Spinach dip made with cream cheese instead of Mayo.
Christmas favorites are more homemade finger foods, mini cream puffs with shreaded turkey, ham and chesse instead of pastry filling, twice baked potatoes, and a gingerbread sleigh with 4 reindeer centerpiece. This is filled with mini candy canes, and assorted baked goods around it.
My cooking triumphs
Baking,
Decorated Gingerbread sleighs/Reindeer. I have been making these for 7 years and still are getting requests every year if I am still making them.
Panaromic Eggs, I have always loved the sugar eggs with the scenes inside since I was a child. I took a class several years ago and have added this to my baking resume.
My cooking tragedies
Cooking without guidlines. One of the qualities I love most about my husband is he can open the cubards and pull out several mixed items and make a masterpiece. I have been unable to master this quality, and often when I try The cats won't even eat it, let alone the family.
