My favorite things to cook
Was raised to cook Hillbilly food with Hillbilly flair. We swear by the tried and true Ozark menu; biscuits and gravy, fried chicken, beans and cornbread, potatoes mashed or fried and plenty of home grown vegetables.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandma kept a pot of beans going on her stove every day. Her homemade hot rolls were magnificent. Am still trying to match her perfection with the rolls. My mother's cranberry salad and Dad's cornbread dressing are musts at my house each Thanksgiving. My biscuits and gravy are legendary, well, to my family they are.
My cooking triumphs
Hate to brag, but, I must. My spaghetti sauce is delicious. The aforementioned biscuits and gravy can't be beat. Did I say that they were legendary? My lasagna is requested a lot when folks are coming to supper.
My cooking tragedies
Tried to serve Thanksgiving feast, prepared by myself, to about 30 friends and family. Everyone ate cold food. Not sure how many eggs I've exploded when the pot boils dry. Made gravy using pancake mix that I thought was flour. Not so good.
