About this Cook
I live in Florida with the most wonderful husband in the world,3 beautiful girls, 15, 9 and 6, 3 wolves (yes, wolves), 2 horses, 3 bunnies, 22 hens, 1 rooster and a fighting fish.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. I've always liked to experiment with my own cookie recipes. Made lots of flops as a kid. I learned cooking chemistry real early on when I would bake some cookies even my little brothers wouldn't eat. Now as an adult, I like to bake with my girls.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies! Grandma and I would spend hours making dozens of different kinds of cookies and now I carry on the tradition with my own kids.
My cooking triumphs
Beleive it or not its meatloaf. Always hated it as a kid. It was always bland and dry. I am trying to create a recipe that is flavorful and moist. I'm getting close....
My cooking tragedies
The first time I ever cooked for my husband I made no boil lasagna. A patient of mine told me that she made it and it was wonderful and easy enough to make on a weekday. Well, she didnt tell me to follow the directions to the letter. I didnt add enough liquid and the noodles never softened up. They were as hard as a rock. My husband asked for seconds! AND the next day, while on the phone with him, I asked him if he had eaten yet, he said no. I asked him what he'd like me to bring over. He said how about some lasagna? I knew if he'd keep coming back for such a horrible meal, he must really love me and is a definite keeper. He now knows that I can cook MUCH better than that, but doesnt ever let me live it down.
