I have been cooking and baking since I was a young lad, my Grannie taught me how to cook it old Skool, farm food and country baking at its best. I then moved into commercial kitchens when I was 15yrs old. Looking for extra spending cash, I found myself working full time running a kitchen at a local recreation center, while attending high school. From there I moved up the ladder and explored fine dining and gourmet. I just enjoy food! With my taste depending on my mood and seasonal foods available I would still have to say my fav's are... my Grannie's Banana Bread, any kind of stir fry, any kind of pasta dish, home made pizza. I never really had too many family cooking traditions, Holiday meals were passed on from my grandparents to my parents and one day will be passed on to myself one day. Cooking along side the Honorable John Barry ( Red Seal Chef and retired local television news personality) For a fund raiser event. Another one of my personal triumphs I spent an evening Cooking for the Mayor of Edmonton and other councilors, my pasta dish earned me a $50.00 tip from the Mayor personally himself. My worst cooking tragedy, Flame Kissed confessions...I was working in a kitchen one night when I was 16 years old, running the night crew of 2 cooks plus myself. We have orders just spitting off the chit machine and we're getting slammed, my two cooks both in training are doing their best to keep up. I ask one of them to hit dish pit and I took over on line. I was drained from working many hours and going to school..so in my midst of a zombie like yet functional state I banged out all of our orders and on the last one, just a flying along I went to toss an order on saute station and I had a saute pan spit a nice orange flame up at me and singeing all the hair off one side of my face, eyebrow and all. That sucked...lol
