I am a mother of three and grandmother to two, I have been married for almost29 years AND we are still very much in luv...perhaps he just luves my cooking? We live on a 2 hectare piece of land outside of town and believe in treading lightly on our earth! We recycle everything and rear our own chickens naturally and share with our kids. I luv cooking large family dinners - things like oxtail, tripe & trotters, leg of lamb - normal South African cooking Our family still get together at least once a month - on a Sunday after church and then we have a fest. It normally is decided by what is in season, local and especially affordable. We luv al fresco - we have the wonderful sunshine most of the year, shy not enjoy it! I owned a coffee shoppe / bistro for about three years and enjoyed cooking myself (all day). I do catering for functions up to 120 people - normally with the help of one or two ladies.... I have had several standing ovations from my patrons - a rarity in this country! I think it is the luv I put into planning, buying, preparing and serving any meal. I have never been able to succeed in baking a typical South African rusk. It is very light, white and with aniseed. My late mother-in-law tried to teach me, but I think I am too impatient! I eventually gave it up.....
