I regret not learning to cook at a younger age. I like to bake, mostly. It seems a lot more simple. The first time I baked an apple pie at my boyfriend's house, the pie's filling leaked onto the bottom of the oven, and began to fill the house with smoke. I often learn from my mistakes :)
