About this Cook
I'm 23 years old and deffinatly what you would call an intermediate cook. I'm still learning in all aspects. I'm not very creative if I don't have a recipe to follow. That's something I think really defines a good cook. Although sometimes I can get daring and try something new. My mom and grandmother are my inspiration and I can only hope that someday I'll become as good a cook as them. It takes practice thats for sure!
My favorite things to cook
I like cooking and grilling much more then baking. Always seems to be much easier for me. Baking doesn't come naturally to me, but i'll always try anything once! My mom usually has to help me if I want to attempt to bake anything!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a long line of good cooks. My mom, grandmother and great grandmother have all shared their recipes with me and I'm working on getting them to what I think is perfection. An apple pie recipe in particular has been passed down and critiqued along the way. This one by far is my favorite recipe and is always a hit at family get togethers and so on.

Apple Oatmeal Crisp
I liked this recipe a lot seeing as though it was very easy and using only one bowl is always a plus in my house. I should have listened to other reviews because it did turn out dry although we combined ours with vanilla icecream and it was just fine! Deffinatly will make this again, although I may follow another reviewer's comment about adding butter and less oats and flour. Thanks so much for sharing!

Mushroom Sauce Baked Pork Chops
Delicious! I would deffinatly make this dish again. My family loved it! I didn't make any major changes, but I did cut the recipe in half (only used 3 pork chops instead of 6) I also baked it in an 2 quart, deeper round cassarole dish seeing as though I don't have a 9X13. Turned out probably a little more watery then it would have been otherwise but it was still flavorful. Make sure you cut potatoes thin enough so they're done i the elloted amount of time. It would be good with added mushrooms and searved with mashed potatoes.
