Dilly Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
We had been given a jar of dilly beans from someone that had thier own (differnt) recipe. We loved them so much we wanted to try and make our own and tried this recipe. We followed the recipe just how it said since it was our first time making it. Waited patiantly two weeks to see how they turned out... And they were WAY TO SALTY! plus, they were not spicy :( We know from the other ones we had been given that they dont have to be that salty for sure! Next time we will cut way back on the salt content. Also. After being disappointed about no spice we put some cayanne into the jar and left it over night. Now they are spicy, but still to salty. So the lesson here is add cayanne at canning time if you want them to be spicy and use less salt! I think we will be trying to get our friends recipe instead but if they wont give it up we will try again with those changes.

Cajun Seafood Pasta

Awesome! I did only one teaspoon of crushed red pepper and I like stuff spicy but I dont like to sweat while I eat. That turned out to be the perfect amount. I also only did a half cup of parsley becuase I'm not a huge fan of it. It was only two of us eatting it but I made the full recipie. I guess we use a lot of sauce becuase there was only enough left for us to freeze some for a side dish for two in the future. AWESOME DISH!

California Grilled Veggie Sandwich

Vary good sammie! My husband likes meat so I added a sliced up grilled chicken breast. He's not a big squash fan so I subbed yellow squash for portobello mushrooms. I roasted everything in the oven instead of grilling and it turned out great. Also, because I'm not a huge feta fan I used Havarti instead. All substitutions worked and it seems to be a vary versitile sammie.

Chicken Tetrazzini IV

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
As suggested by others I sauted some garlic and onion in the butter before adding the flour. Easy to make and Super YUMMY. My two year old loved it and my husband told me that I'm not supposed to make stuff so good that he over eats. (we both went back for seconds) What I really loved is I was able to put the entire dish together and then keep it in the fridge until my husband called and said he was on the way home. Then I just popped it in the oven! Made for perfect timing!

Tiramisu II

I doubled the coffee alchole mix and let the dish sit for 2 days to meld like others suggested. I had a little extra that didnt fit in the dish that i tried right away and I tasted the coffee mix more then after it had sat for 2 days. I would make this again for sure. BUT, next time im going to add even more coffee mix and/or use french pressed coffee instead of just strong brewed from my coffee pot. Great recipie, We loved it! And it was easy to do aswell. Which is always a plus!
