About this Cook
I'm a happy wife to a wonderful husband and mother to the double blessings of a son and a daughter (so far!). I'm also a nurse, but in my heart I'm a full-time homemaker.
My favorite things to cook
Everything!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Traditional English meals that my Nana raised our family on, always a meat/vegetables/potato meal in many variations. This kind of supper, although not fancy or trendy, is my ultimate comfort food, no matter what combination it comes in. Also having special breakfasts on the weekend, something my husband and I started doing before we had our children. I also enjoy very much baking with my son, who loves to be "my special helper".
My cooking triumphs
Successfully baking beautiful bread! That and having my husband and son (and hopefully daughter when she can talk!) praise my cooking.
My cooking tragedies
Hmmm...only have 1000 characters, so I can't even start!

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies
Crazy good!! I used a cookie sheet instead of a muffin tin with no problem. I also made a tiny divet in each cookie when I baked by second batch, and the peanut butter cups pressed into the cookies beautifully. For all Canadians, I used President's Choice Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Melts, which are in the candy aisle of Zehr's, Fortino's, etc. Delish!

Sweeper Steak
Very Good!! I added a packet of sliced button mushrooms and 1/4 cup of water (seemed a little thick), and my family loved it. Did find it slightly salty, I will try it using low-sodium mushroom soup next time. I baked 2 hours at 350 degrees, beef was not tough at all.
