I will never be one of those people who proclaim themselves to be an expert cook and brag nonstop. To me, there is always room for improvement. I am always critical of cooking. At the same time, I hate the term "home cook" which implies that if you aren't the head chef at a 5 star restaurant, your food isn't edible and you should crawl into a hole. I say, get off your high horse. I like to try new and increasingly complex recipes. Mom used to use convenience foods. I am not above breaking out the canned soup and Velveeta on occasion. No bragging, remember? One time I was broiling salmon with a potato chip crust and it kind of caught on fire.
