About this Cook
I'm a young mother that loves to cook and experiment with new tastes. My only problem is, of course, my children aren't to keen on my style of cooking. So, unfortunately, french fries are a regular part of my supper plans. Compramise is a good thing, I guess!!
My favorite things to cook
Personally, I'm a baker. I've been baking since I was 8. Cooking I've only done for the past 5 or so years. I'd have to say that good ol' home cookin' is my favorite, but I hold a special place for "southern" flare.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother hates to cook, and my dad cooks very little. Unfortunately, there aren't very many traditions that my family shares when it comes to food. My goal is to change that with my own family. Food is a good bonding medium, and traditions are important.
My cooking triumphs
I'm self taught. My parents aren't much for being in the kitchen, but I sure am. Everything I know I've learned by experience or from magazines.
My cooking tragedies
WOW!! I've had several. I don't even know where to begin.

Glazed Ham
I thought this was fantastic. The best part is the smokiness you get from the liquid smoke. It's way better than just an ol' fashioned sweetened ham.

Alfredo Sauce
This is THE BEST alfredo sauce recipe. I will not ever make another one. The key is to buy the cheese in a block and shred it off yourself. A little work but it's well worth it.

Salsa Chicken Burrito Filling
This was very good. I too thought it was a bit on the salty side. Very simple to make, especially because I slow cooked the chicken in a 250 degree oven for 2 hours. That really made it easy! The best part of this recipe was that it gave me a great base idea to change and make my own.
