Yia Yia's Tzatziki Sauce
This is a great authentic recipe. I suggest straining not only the cucumbers but the sour cream & yogurt as well. If you can't find greek yogurt, plain works well too - just strain it. Also, a bit of greek seasoning works too! And to top it off, a bit of dill!

Tzatziki Sauce II
This is a great recipe. I lived in the Tampa Bay area and would travel to Tarpon Springs to eat authentic greek food at least 3 times a year. I recommend not only straining the yogurt, but also the cucumber at the same time. Additionally, I add dill instead of the mint for a traditional greek flavor.

Tzatziki Sauce I
To make this more authentic use a greek yogurt (which is already drained) OR purchase the yogurt, line a strainer with cheese cloth or a paper towel and let the yogurt drain. Also, peel, slice lengthwise, seed & grate 1 cucumber. Once the cucumber is peeled, seeded & grated. Line another strainer with the same method and wait until the cucumber releases the liquids. Both regular yogurt & cucumber takes about an hour or 2 to strain liquids off - so plan ahead. The result is delicious & authentic!!!
