Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY!! I made these just as written except for that I used regular romaine lettace for mine and used pork on beef. It seems a little off to use beef in lettuce wraps. JMO. They came out really good. I made the oriental sauce for dipping...I also use that sauce when I make my pork dumplings from this site. I will for sure make these again!

Kung Pao Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
I made this as a side dish to go with my lettace wraps. I did not add any meat to it. The sauce ended up WAY too thick. Next time I will not put so much corn starch to it. I did double the sauce because I was serving over pasta...I should have tripled the sauce. It had good flavor....i will try again on this one with my changes...

Spinach Tomato Tortellini

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
YUMMY! THIS WAS REALLY GOOD!! I PUT MORE SPINACH AND GARLIC THAN CALLED FOR. I WAS GOING TO PUT SOME LEFT OVER GRILLED CHICKEN IN TOO BUT MY HUBBY ATE IT BEFORE I MADE THIS RECIPE. BOTH MY KIDS AND HUBBY LOVED THIS ONE. IT WAS SO EASY AND I HAD EVERYTHING ON HAND. I DID USE 2% MILK AND 1/2 AND 1/2 INSTEAD OF HEAVY CREAM. NEXT TIME I WILL ADD ITALIAN SAUSAGE..THIS IS FOR SURE A KEEPER....GREAT FOR THOSE NIGHTS YOU ASK " WHAT AM I GOING TO MAKE FOR DINNER TONIGHT".

this was my first time to ever make fudge. It turned out great! I did use 2 cups semi chips and 1 cup mild chocolate chips and reduced sugar by 1/4 cup and only used 3TBS butter. They came out PERFECT!!! Thanks for a great recipe!

Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
YUMMY!!!!! My whole family just loved these cookies. I love to cook and have been for many years but baking is a new thing for me. I took advise from others and cooked at 340 and froze for 10 min. before baking. I also added 1/4 cup more flour. I used lemon curd for half of them and raspberry for the other. They both turned out great! I will for sure be making many more of these. In fact I will be making lots more this week to give as gifts. Thanks for a great recipe!

Cabbage Rolls II

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2009
YUMMY!!! This turned out much better than I thought. I boiled the whole head of cabbage for about 5 minutes. I took it out and cut the stem off so the leaves just fell off the head. I trippled the sauce and it made plenty, enough to have on my mashed potatoes. My 7 and 11 year old even ate this one. I will for sure make this again. thanks BJ for a great recipe!

Lime Chicken Soft Tacos

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
This was pretty tasty, however I had to add some spices to it because the base recipe did not have a lot of flavor outside the lime. I marinated for a couple of hours then threw it all together in a skillet. I also used boneless skinless chicken thighs. That is what I had on hand plus I think those are more moist in tacos/enchiladas. I spiced up with cumin, garlic powder and salt/pepper. I will make again but next time I will add lots more seasoning maybe even a package of taco seasoning.

Garlic-Lemon Double Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
WOW!!!!! I have made lots of stuffed chicken breasts and this one really really is good!! I pounded out my chicken and spread cream cheese and put shredded cheddar and rolled. I put a meat therm. on the meat to make sure it did not get dry (165f) and came out PERFECT. If your wondering weather or not to me make this...MAKE IT as you won't be disappointed I promise!!! The flavors all melted very nice! I used more lemon and glad I did as it could get lost in all the flavors. This for sure will be a keeper!!

Original Nestle® Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
These were really good. I used regular chocolate chips not semi sweet and it worked really good. Mine went flat so the second half of my batter I put in freezer between batches. It helped a little. Next time I will use other suggestions and put the pudding in and make sure all my ingredents are room temp. I did not put nuts in mine as my hubby wanted just plain CC cookies. Thanks for the great recipe!

Beef Bourguignon II

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
My sister makes this stew all the time and I just had to try this one. I had the same problem as MOLSON7...After 2.5 hours it was really dried out. I had to add a can of chicken broth (all I had on hand) and some more wine. I don't think that effected the flavor of the stew. I NEVER cook with canned veggies and now I know why. That part alone was not appealing to me in this stew. I have made much better stew! The meat in this turned out dry. I even had my butcher cut me a fatty roast for my stew meat to make more tender and less dry. My kids(which are not picky eaters) would not eat this. I hate giving bad reviews but I had to on this one. Sorry

Cajun Crawfish and Shrimp Etouffe

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
I made this last minute and had everything on hand. I used all shrimp and only 1.5 pounds. I did not have fresh tomatos so I used a can of diced. This turned out so good. My family loved it and the left overs were even tasty! I served this over white rice.

Tiramisu Layer Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
this was my first time to ever bake anything this fancy. I do a lot of cooking but just now starting to try baking. The only problem I had with this cake was that my layers were sliding off one another. I think next time (which there will for sure be a next time) I will freeze the cake layers before stacking. My hubby is italian and has been begging me for years to make this. He LOVED it and so did his Italian grandpa!!! thanks for such an amazing recipe!!

Chicken Flautas

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
I made this the other night and it was really good. my whole family liked it. I had made pork carnitas and made these with the left overs. I did mine a little different..I heated my corn tortillas in a non stick pan with no oil until hot and soft. I just put the carnita meat and some cheesed and rolled. Once rolled I brushed olive oil on each one and placed on cookies sheet sprayed with Pam and baked. They were really good and crunchy...NOT greasy or bad for you. I will for sure make this again

Baja Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
This was really really good. I made pork Carnitas and had this as our sauce on the corn tortilla with the carnita meat. My hubby really liked it. I used 1/2 mayo and 1/2 sour cream and put a tad more jalapeño in it for the heat. I think next time I will spice it up just a little bit to fit our taste.
