Fresh Pear Pie
Really this should be a 4 1/2 star recipe but I don't have a half star option. :) I made this as my contribution to our family's holiday meal. I loved this pie, the flavor is subtle and it was a really refreshing change from the basic apple, pumpkin, or pecan. However, be sure you use pears that are ripe! I usually eat my pears a bit crisper than most, so I got my crisp pears and they were pretty crisp still after baking. It was still good, but a bit unexpected from a pie. Next time I'll use softer pears.
