Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
The dough was the best I've found, and I've been looking for a while. I took one reviewer's advice and added garlic powder and pizza/Italian seasoning in with the salt and oil. This crust tastes amazing, is chewy and soft, and has a perfect slightly crunchy outer crust. This will be my crust from now on.

BBQ Chicken Pizza II

Definitely put a thin layer of cream cheese underneath the BBQ sauce, it's amazing!

Honey Baked Chicken II

This is good. I rate it 5, although I thought it turned out a little dry. Maybe because I used frozen chicken instead of fresh? Great sauce though.

Cola Pot Roast II

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
The gravy is delicious. I replace the carrots and celery with small cubed red potatoes, use garlic powder in placed of minced, and a full packet of brown gravy instead of 1/2. Sooo good! I love brown gravy, and this stuff is the best I've had.

Vanilla Crepes

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
I make these with a lot of the variations others suggested, and they are the best crepes I've ever made. When I make the recipe as is, it is still good, but the consistency and flavor is awesome with a few changes.

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
My husband loves this! He always asks for it. I don't add the potato flakes. I used other reviewer's suggestions and add 1 T seasoning salt and 1 T garlic powder. Good comment is to taste to make sure the coating is pungent! This recipe is fantastic though. And that's coming from a girl who hates fried chicken.

Real Italian Calzones

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
These were great! I forgot the salt the first time, and somehow the were still pretty good. I made them again (with salt) and if you roll them out really thin, they make a lot and you still have a wonderful crust. I was told these were the best calzones the person had ever had!

Cobre Valley Casserole

Basically a really large amount of bean dip. It was good, but I wouldn't make it as a meal. More of an appetizer. Nothing too special, it might be better layered.

Four Egg Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
This was a really moist cake. I've never made cake from scratch, but this turned out great! The only thing I didn't like is that is lacks that true "Yellow Cake" flavor. I don't know if that makes sense... It almost was too sweet, and not buttery/salty enough. Maybe I will try using all butter in place of shortening (this time I used half and half). Still, it tasted very good! I think I'm just to used to the taste of box cake. :)

Asparagus Parmesan

Absolutely delicious! I didn't really measure the parmesan, but I think it was a little less than called for. So good!

Parmesan Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
This was pretty good. I didn't have a problem with them sticking, and I only stirred them toward the end, don't worry about doing it during the first half of cooking. It was a little bland, so I added some garlic salt to the flour mixture. Next time I will add more to offset the butter flavor... very buttery.

Awesome Steak Marinade

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
Everyone loved this marinade. I marinated chicken breasts and t-bone steaks, then boiled the rest to make an tangy sauce. I subbed half the steak sauce (Heinz 51) with barbecue sauce and it tasted awesome.

Cherry Pie IV

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
This was great! I don't like cherry pie, but my husband and our friends loved this! They said it was the best they'd had! I used two 14 oz. cans of pitted tart cherries. I boiled the juice from the cans with the sugar and corn starch, then turned the heat down and mixed in the cherries (so they could heat up a bit) and butter and extract. It turned out perfectly! I did use a different pie crust recipe from this site, and it was flaky and light. I've never made a pie before, so this was really fun. :)
