I'm currently teaching at an alternative public high school, for high risk students. I teach special education and retired from the Army in 2005 after 20 years of active service. I have 4 adult children, 13 grandchildren,1 great-grand and two toy poodles. I'm recently widowed.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking, especially experimenting with different types of desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving is very special to me and my family. Preparing a special meal with my daughters, teaching my granchildren how to prepare their favorite foods is always the highlight of our family gathering.
My cooking triumphs
Competing in all Army competitions throughout my military career and being selected to compete in the 1988 olympics(Germany)was truly an honor. Winning medals and trophies for excelence in food preparation and competition was fantastic.
My cooking tragedies
It isn't exactly a cooking tragedy, but due to the deactivation of the nueclear weapon because of the SALT II Treaty. The olympic competition was cancelled and that was my las opportunity. As a soldier there are many cooking tragedies that aren't to be relived. Even on paper.
