About this Cook
I am 40 years old, and I don't know a thing about cooking. I'm the kind of person who sets the kitchen on fire when attempting to boil water (true story!)
My favorite things to cook
I suppose I'll find out soon!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Both of my parents worked very hard outside the home to support me and my siblings. Cooking wasn't really part of the equation. We ate lots of hot dogs, hamburgers, and frozen pizza.
My cooking tragedies
Hah! I have destroyed more pots than I have saved. I have a terrible habit of putting something on the stove, then getting distracted until the smoke alarm goes off.

World's Best Lasagna
This is a fantastic recipe. For those that like it spicy, I recommend using hot Italian sausage instead of sweet.

Blueberry Spinach Salad
We absolutely love this salad. Like some others, I cut out the salt. I also use about 3/4 the amount of vinegar that the recipe calls for...otherwise I find it has a bit too much bite for us (and we like foods with an ouch factor!)

Baked Seafood Au Gratin
Note to newbie cooks: when it comes time to stir the sauce "until thickened and bubbly"...don't make my mistake! I did not let it thicken nearly enough, and my final product was quite wet. If you're a novice and you think your sauce is thick enough, let it go another 5 minutes after that :) Even though I botched the recipe, it was still quite tasty and I would definitely make this again.
