About this Cook
Well, I'm recently engaged. Life is getting pretty friggin domesticated...I basically joined this site because I don't really know much about cooking. Turns out I actually enjoy it.
My favorite things to cook
I really, really love to bake. Cupcakes, coffee cakes, cakes in general. I like doing fancy cookies too. I'm recently branching into grilling seeing as I bought a fantastic grill to practice on. I have a few traditional polish favorites from my grandma. I'm marrying an Italian so I'm quickly becoming acclimated to that style of cooking. I'm into healthy cooking as well. I've also recently become interested in Asian style cooking, especially Philippino.
My favorite family cooking traditions
my grandma's ham's at easter and any and every polish dish she ever turned out.
My cooking triumphs
german chocolate cake! a thanksgiving dinner for 15...
My cooking tragedies
I attempted to make what I called "raspberry lemonade cake" for my mother's 47th birthday...what a disaster. The icing ended up being something reminiscent of cement. I had no idea how to ice a cake with a puree in between the layers...it was a swirly, lumpy mess. Tasted great though :)

Chocolate Fudge Buttercream Frosting
I've made this quite a few times now and it has officially become my default chocolate frosting. I've made it using dark chocolate hot fudge and nutella. It's always so good! Light and fluffy, a very whipped texture. Def for the chocolate lover. Great recipe!

Blueberry Muffins I
There was something missing with the flavor of these. They were sweet, but other than that quite bland. I did like the texture of them though. The key there is really in the mixing.

Aunt Blanche's Blueberry Muffins
delicious! the best recipe I've found so far on this site for blueberry muffins. They def come out more cake like, but the flavor is spot on.
