Growing up in a southwestern half Mexican family, I was very fortunate to learn the art of spice. Now, I search for ways to make my recipes more universally tolerable to a wider range of palettes; toning down the strength of my dishes while keeping their character intact. My boyfriend says I can make anything Mexican... but I try to only limit it to no more then three nights a week. Generally speaking, unless it's got green chilies, salsa, cumin, oregano or chili powder in it... I'm not interested!
