The service was held yesterday. It was truly, one of the saddest days of my life. My family can now begin the healing process. We had over a thousand friends and family to come to our church to support us through this tragedy. I would like to say Thank you , to everyone who…

My husband and I married as high school sweethearts. After having three children and being so young, and dealing with life we were divorced. Now after 25 yrs + we remarried and its been 9 yrs. We now have 7 grandchildren. Our children and grandchildren are estatic about the reunion.
My favorite things to cook
My family likes to get together on weekends most times(due to everyone working and the kids having football or basketball practice etc.,) so we like to do Seafood night on Friday or Saturday. Fish, shrimp, scallops, crab legs and deviled crab with all the fixings are my favorite to cook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We spend most holidays together and I must say that Jerk Turkey and fried turkey, with collard greens or mixed greens, candied yams, cornbread dressing, and potato salad are staples around the holidays.
My cooking triumphs
I worked for many years in the business office of a local hospital. One morning I had a salmon pattie I made the night before to heat in the microwave.Everyone in the breakroom wanted to know where I bought this on the way to work. Every Friday afterwards I sold them for breakfast with a biscuit to all of my co-workers.I brought in a slice of sweet potato pie for lunch once. They asked if I made it. I cooked 30-50 pies to sell every holiday for them and co-workers of my husband and kids!
My cooking tragedies
For some reason for me the hardest thing to cook was RICE. I would always overcook or undercook the rice.I wasn't one for measuring so I would just put water in the pot and add the rice. MISTAKE! Once I started following the directions my rice would turn out perfect. I can now cook rice!
