About this Cook
My roots are from Phoenix, Northern California, and Southern New Mexico. My continual challenge? Meshing these tastes with my husband's picky South Jersey flava. Savory enchiladas meet frozen pizza rolls...? Who knows. I love my children. Look at them. They are beautiful. I pray none of them get hooked on crack. I live in the kitchen all day with this pack. Well, my clothes are kept in my closet. Maybe I should switch them to cupboards... My husband and I travel to Europe often. There was this one seaside fishing village in The Ring of Kerry. We were served a golden-crusted pot pie with a fresh fish concoction piled inside. Oh wow, and what a suprise for Ireland. I love to eat.
My favorite things to cook
Any kind of bread. With some kind of healthy punch to it. Bread is a family pleaser, which I obviously must worry about, since Im expecting my 5th. But you can stuff healthy things into the dough, and trick them. Ha Ha! Someday, I hope to achieve the ultimate; to capture the original taste of my grandmother's perfect white bread. So good, toasted and smothered with her delicious homemade jams.
My cooking triumphs
Well... matters of taste can not be disputed. Especially with the tongue of a tempered two-year-old. I have a lot of goals. They include fresh, frugal, delicious, simple. Nothing is more frustrating than spending lots of time and money on the end-of-the-day meal, to have one person satisfied at the end, and the others asking for boxed mac n cheese. This motivates a mom.
My cooking tragedies
Hmmm... I know I must have at least 25 gaurdian angels. Colanders come in handy, too. Especially for starting pasta over. Sometimes, on a whimsical afternoon, I find myself adding too much to the salad, instead of just celebrating the beauty of 3 great ingredients.

Sloppy Joes II
This family stand-by was absolutely original--zesty sweet! I usually use tons of worcestire, but this was great without it. Sauteing the onions and garlic with the beef was a great trick. My 4 picky palates asked for seconds! Of course, I had to skip the bell pepper. This will be my new give-away meal for moms with new babies, with a loaf of crusty french bread and a crunchy salad.
