Lily and I
About this Cook
My husband and I married in August 2006. In December 2007 we welcomed our daughter into our world and love every minute of if! I enjoy taking pictures of our little girl and keeping my house clean (which can be challenging with a toddler)! I worked full time as an assistant administrator and marketing director for a local assisted living community until I became pregnant, then I went to part time in home care giving. This last February I quit that job to stay at home with our daughter, but am helping take care of my brother in law who is a 21 year male with Down Syndrome. My husband and I are also going to school online, I will receive my AA degree in Psychology on December 20th of this year and my husband will have his AA in 8 weeks, then will go on for his Software Engineering degree!
My favorite things to cook
Anything with pasta. I love Italian food the most but have found that Lily (our daughter) doesn't much care for the noddles, so that limits what I can cook until I can figure out more things for her to eat! I also enjoy using my slow cooker, and baking! I have a large sweet tooth!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My paternal grandmother made a wonderful carrot raisin salad as well as an apple walnut salad for family dinners. My maternal grandfather fancied "ham hocks and beans" which I love to make and eat. My mother can cook a great meal with whatever is in the pantry and freezer in a jiffy and I look forward to being able to do the same some day!
My cooking triumphs
I will keep you posted.... :o)
My cooking tragedies
I have them more often than not. I want to badly to be able to cook new and exciting food for my family but I have found that it is becoming increasingly difficult since my daughter is somewhat of a finicky eater.
