About this Cook
I am a mother of three, and I love to cook. My boyfriend got me a kitchen aid mixer for Christmas and I wanted to cry in delight! Cooking has just recently in the past few years become my love, but lately I have been obsessed! I watch the Food Network and google recipes all day. Things pop into my head and I go straight to the kitchen to make them. I would say that I like to make gourmet dishes, but since I have kids I try and make simple dishes as well. My specialty is hiding veggies in the food so that the kids don't taste them. One day I would like to have my own restaurant, I enjoy watching people enjoy food. The smells, and taste, the presentation, I love it! I eventually want to learn how to make those extravagant cakes for weddings and parties, but for now i am content on being Chef Mommy!
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy making up recipes, just throwing whatever I have together and creating a gourmet dish. I also love taking restaurant recipes and making them my own by adding or taking away things. I have loved cooking since I was a little girl. My grandma taught me the majority of the things I know, food network and my love for the art taught me the rest!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Thanksgiving my gran and I create a menu and cook for 2 days straight preparing meals for the family. I love all of the work, and smells and to ear everyone say "mmmmmmmmm" and groan about how they ate too much!
My cooking triumphs
In my opinion whatever I make is yummy to me. We have guests over alot and I always go out of my way to cook something special for them. Recently I made a stuffed chicken marsala for some friends and they absolutely loved it! I was in the kitchen for hours, but it was worth it in the end.
My cooking tragedies
Oddly enough, my boyfriend is not a fan of my fried chicken (I say oddly because he loves everything I cook). I thought it tasted good, but I think it just didnt have the cup of salt on it that he is used to. I also tried to make a panini on a stove top grill, it was tasty but the presentation sucked! Other then that there have not been many cooking mishaps.

Carrot Cake III
I have made this cake 3 times now, and it is a hit every time. I usually add raisins and walnuts (per my boyfriends request), but it very tasty with out them as well. The frosting is heavenly, and I love it warmed up for breakfast! Thanks for sharing this delight:)
