About this Cook
I am a happily married midwest girl who loves to feed people lol. My grandmother has influenced me a lot and I truly cherish the times I get to cook with her. I like to think I take after her in the fact that I can't let people be hungry in our home! I work full time and stay pretty busy but I love spending a day in the kitchen when possible and enjoy quick meals throughout the week.
My favorite things to cook
I love casseroles and good "home cooked country meals". Thick pork chops, roasts and crock pot recipes are my favorites. I also love to bake pies and cheesecakes.I love trying new recipes and get a great satisfaction from making meals that my husband loves. As a young couple it's nice to have theat time to enjoy our meals and knowing that he loves my cooking:)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up with a diabetic in the family I learned to bake sugar free deserts and loved surprising them with new yummy treats that they could actually have too!I also love learning recipes from my grandmothers and copy more every time I visit them:)
My cooking triumphs
My husband swore he hated meatloaf-until he met me:)
My cooking tragedies
For some reason I have bad luck with cookies:( They always turn out crunchy around the edges and gooey in the middle!

Sweet and Sour Pork Patties
I used your basic recipe and formed meatballs. I baked them at 350 for about 35 minutes. Meanwhile I cooked 1 chopped green pepper, 1 chopped red pepper, 1/4 chopped onion in a frying pan with 2 TBl of pineapple juice over med heat. Once the peppers were crisp/tender I added a can of pineapple chunks. I then added the meatballs and sweet and sour sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes while I cooked the rice. This dish was so amazing and is now a favorite in our house! Thank you for the base recipe-I recommend trying it made like this!

Maple Bacon Muffins
Ahh two of my favorite breakfast flavors in one yummy muffin! I had this recipe years ago and lost it so I am very thankful that you posted it here! These muffins are fabulous!! I did not change a thing but used thick cut fresh bacon and fried it rather than in the microwave-a little more time but worth it:)

Pork Chops with Blue Cheese Gravy
This recipe is great! My husband said this was his favorite pork chop meal so a big thank you!!! I used half and half instead of whipping cream and mixed in 2 Tbls. of homemade bleu cheese dressing. You do have to stir the sauce for at least 5 minutes for it to thicken. It was so quick, easy and wonderful! Thank you so much for psoting this one!
