About this Cook
Happily married for 10 years, 2 kids together, plus 4 wonderful stepchildren and 5 stepgrandchildren! We're a large, busy family, very close and we are blessed with so much love. :)
My favorite things to cook
I'm always trying to find recipes that will be healthy and keep my weight down, but that my kids will actually eat! I am a surf-n-turf lover, and baking is my strong suit.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Spritz cookies, homemade bread, slow cookers, and we love family get-togethers.
My cooking triumphs
Roasted my first turkey at 14! My grandmother taught me how to bake bread. She is 90 years old and still bakes!
My cooking tragedies
Too many to mention. Mostly due to being crazy busy and can't watch the stove when there is a child "tragedy" happening elsewhere in the house. Tragedies are things like slivers in a foot, or "he's touching me!!!", or "I fell off my bike", or things like that.

Honey Grilled Chicken
I pre-made the chicken for a camping trip. Made it before we left, packed it into the refrigerator in the camper, and it was so easy to plop onto the hot iron frying pan over the camper's stove. Kids loved it!

Baked Ziti with Sausage
My husband works in the meat industry, so we get a LOT of Italian chicken sausage from the factory. This is a great recipe to use up all the sausage I have. Kids love it like spaghetti, and you can actually use whatever pasta you have handy.

Key Lime Cheesecake I
I've never made a cheesecake before, so I was properly terrified going into this, but willing. It turned out great! I feel like now I can call myself a better-than-intermediate cook! Whole family loved it, very good lime-y taste and soooo creamy! Well worth the effort.
