About this Cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am newly married, and am excited to establish my family's cooking traditions for the future. At the moment, I'm converting to whole grain or low fat meals.
My cooking triumphs
I made the most amazing crab cakes the other day--my first ones ever.
My cooking tragedies
I woke up one morning and decided I wanted homemade chocolate cake for breakfast. I was sleepy while I measured out baking soda into the dry mix, but didn't realize that what I thought was a a measuring teaspoon, was actually a tablespoon...an hour later when I opened the oven to take the cake out, I discovered that half of it had exploded all over the oven. While the chocolate cake still turned out okay, the cleanup later that afternoon was not the best.

Rustic Autumn Fruit Tart
much less cardamom--it's almost overpowering. I would say, if you double the recipe, keep the same amt of cardamom as a single recipe would call for, or half that.

Caramel Apple Dip
This was great! I think I like it cooled better.
