Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
Yum! Very rich, peanut buttery and simple! I made these and a batch of regular peanut butter cookies and these won the taste test in my house. I, like other reviewers, used 1/2C white sugar, 1/2C brown sugar and added 1 tsp. vanilla. The regular PB cookies came out with a lighter texture, these are definitely a denser cookie....but packed with PB flavor. Enjoy!

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2009
Our cookies looked like they were iced by a professional. This was great for appearance, workability and stackability. On the taste side, it rates a 4...very sweet. Happy icing!

Hot and Sweet Ginger Drink

MMMMMMMMMM! Warm, soothing and good! My only advice is to adjust the brown sugar and honey to your tastes, otherwise it's a bit on the sweet side. Thank you CC for making my sore throat feel better!

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
Delicious! I made two of these for a large group and they absolutely LOVED them! I did alter the topping a bit because, the first time I made this recipe there was a layer of butter still on top after baking. This time I made the topping based on a single recipe and covered two sopapilla cheesecakes with it. It came out a little crispier than the first one I made. Quick, easy and delicious.

Grilled Scampi

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2009
Delicious! I added salt and pepper to taste, chopped up some fresh parsley from my garden and let the shrimp marinate for about 30 min. Before grilling I skewered the shrimp, after grilling I poured extra butter/garlic over the shrimp and Voila! happy family :) Thanks Nessy.

Barbequed Pineapple

We finally bought a new grill and have been grilling everything and anything...These were great! We made these kid friendly and substituted the rum with OJ. Can't wait to try these again using the adult friendly version. Served them over vanilla ice cream. Thanks for the recipe.

Campfire Banana Splits

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2009
Tastes great and they're fun to make. We had a banana stuffing party and let the kids stuff the bananas with chocolate chips, coconut, and chopped pecans. We actually served these over vanilla ice cream too! Wonderlicious! 6/15/09: DON'T let these grill too long unless you like mushy bananas!

Chicken and Bacon Shish Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2009
Served these at a family get-together and they went like hotcakes! I tasted the marinade before I poured it over the chicken and mushrooms and wasn't so sure but I was pleasantly surprised! I doubled the marinade and marinated the chicken and mushrooms in separate bags for 3 hours. I also pre-baked 1/2 the bacon and left the other half raw...it made no difference in the end result (except that the raw bacon was easy to wrap). Awesome recipe, thanks!

Refreshing Summer Orzo Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2009
This was delicious! A welcomed change from the regular ol' pasta salad. I used fresh basil and thyme and added them in with the spinach for fresher flavor. Another reviewer suggested dry roasting the pine nuts...next time I'll do that as well...to brown them up a little better and prevent my garlic from browning. I didn't have kalamata olives so I used black olives and I did add chopped artichoke hearts and grape tomatoes for color. BUT this recipe on it's own deserves 5 stars. Thank you for the recipe:)

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Reviewed: May 29, 2009
Maybe y'all will have better luck than me shaping this into a ball. I softened the cream cheese and butter at room temp and refrigerated the mixture overnight. I had a heck of a time rolling it in the pecans and shaping it into a ball. As for the taste, I liked it but my guests weren't crazy about it (I had a lot left over...even with 17 kids). Maybe more powdered sugar in the mix to firm it up?

Maureen's Baked Beans

Reviewed: May 29, 2009
I made this for a potluck and was asked several times for the recipe. It was a definite hit. The only thing I did different was to add some crumbled bacon on top before serving. Next time I make it I think I'll add 8 oz more sausage. Thanks for the recipe.

Dump Cake I

Reviewed: May 8, 2009
This is a quick, easy and sweet dessert. I left off the walnuts simply because we didn't have them. This recipe is much better than dump cake IV from this site(the other one just has too much butter).

Dump Cake IV

This recipe has way too much butter. I've also made the dump cake 1 from this site and it was much better. Needless to say that didn't stop my sweet lil' vultures from gobbling it up.

Famous Japanese Restaurant-Style Salad Dressing

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
Overall, this was a tasty dressing. It doesn't get 5 stars because I was expecting this to taste like the "famous" Japanese restaurant dressing. It comes close to the taste but it has a little zing that I haven't tasted in the restaurant dressing. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
