About this Cook
I have been married since August 2003 and I have a daughter, Lanie, who was born in May of 06. We also have a wheaten terrier named Max (better known as "Boo" or "Boonie"). I work part time as a preschool teacher and hope to attend culinary school someday.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts!!!! But I also love coming up with new dinners to surprise my husband.
My favorite family cooking traditions
There is a long line of fab southern cooks in my family - I am trying to live up to them, but I have only been interested in cooking for about a year now.
My cooking triumphs
I always get rave reviews on my desserts.
My cooking tragedies
I was traumatized by my Easy Bake Oven as a child - used salt instead of sugar to sweeten up a little cake. Maybe that's why I was terrified of the kitchen for the next 15 or so years??

Chantal's New York Cheesecake
I just made this cheesecake for a work potluck, and it was fab! I got so many compliments on how moist and creamy it was, and several people said it was the best they ever had. I have to admit I was very nervous about making it, as this was my very first cheesecake attempt-but just be sure to follow the directions and make sure to use a water bath!

Mini Cheesecakes I
We love these! Although I keep the Nilla wafers whole in the bottom. But these are great little treats for family get togethers- everyone will love them, and they are so wonderfully easy to make.

Taco Dip I
This is one of our family favorites! Although, I leave the olives off, cause we are not big fans! This stuff goes really fast- my family has been known to polish one off in about 15-20 minutes!!
