Cuisine to me is love, history, art, tradition, and culture. It is so much more than just nourishment for the body, it stimulates the mind. New things....I like to experience cuisines and techniques that inspire me... I want to try it all! My big beautiful Cuban American family doesn't share a moment together that doesn't involve food... I would have to say that my favorite family tradition is that we all get together once a month to celebrate birthdays and have a potluck at on of our homes....its the best tradition we have, and we get to enjoy it 12 times a year! My first ever glazed ham 2 years ago for thanksgiving (I grew up VERY vegetarian!) I once made a german chocolate cake 5 TIMES in a row because it wouldn't come out just right....i crossed out the word "cake" on the recipe and replaced it with an expletive, but the 5th one was a charm, so I guess that could be classified as a tragedy that turned INTO a triumph! :D
