Own my own business, single, own home, primary interest outside of work and cooking is golf. My work is environmental related and not a typical 8 to 5 business. I cook to relax, and I golf to manage stress.
My favorite things to cook
I actually prepare dinners for private parties up to 12 people. I like experimenting and outside of Indian food, I have fixed many awesome and diverse meals. I have in the past taught bread making, and I don't mind having people around when I am preparing food, but I don't take help well. I know what I want to do, what I need to do and I prefer doing it alone.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother and I made Christmas bread for every family in our church. We would start the day after Thanksgiving. My father was minister. Lot of bread baking. I grew up on good stick to the ribs mid-west and Pennsylvania Dutch cooking. Over the years I have taken my favorites and made them healthier. I still love cooked to death roast beef with tons of veggies.
My cooking triumphs
Chestnut soup;chocolate prune bread;beef stew baked in a pumpkin shell;variety of stuffed Portabella mushrooms including chicken pot pie in a portabella.
My cooking tragedies
Several, but letting the hard boiled eggs explode was by the far the worst.
