New Orleans Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
I made this exactly how the recipe stated. The chocolate chips didn't melt and intertwine with the filling. Instead, I have pecan pie with chocolate chunks. Not what the recipe made me to believe.:(

Nonnie's Ham Chowder

Ive made this recipe before. Its great folks and don't change a thing except maybe your seasoning preference. Serve with some steaming hot rolls with real butter (butter is more healthy) and you have a cold weathers night winner.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
First, Great recipe Jeremy and thank you for sharing :) I utilized this recipe for the meatballs only as I have my own traditional sauce. Anyway, I read all the reviews,,those that want more flavor, use 1/2 Italian Sausage instead of all hamburger, those that want it more moist, throw in some spaghetti sauce from your meal before you make the meatballs. And yes I did brown the meatballs just so they held their shape. For the most part the meatballs were still raw when I put them in the sauce. Excellent meatballs and I will make them again and again because my husband prefers meatballs with spaghetti along with my neighbor who is an older full Italian treasure. She is who gave these the thumbs up! Thanks again Jeremy!!

Becky's Chicken Salad

Reviewed: May 25, 2009
I love chicken salad. And I love it with fruit. I utilized the other reviews and mixed it all up except the heavy whipping cream and mayonaise. Added the 1/4 cup cream and then put in enough mayonaise until the consistancy was what I like. Oh, and I used chopped pecans as I like them better. This is very good and the way I will continue to make chicken salad in the future. Thank you Becky!

Blue Cheese Burgers

Reviewed: May 25, 2009
I love blue cheese. So I made this as the recipe states. I too had blue cheese oozing out onto the grill. So, I thought, Why not make the burgers with everything but the blue cheese, make the patties thin, put the blue cheese in the middle and top with another thin patty and seal the edges...MY OH MY,,,that with the grilled onions...Oh, I want one right now...Thank you for an awesome recipe!

Caramel Frosting IV

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
I gave this 5 stars because of the taste. To top my Caramel layer cake with fudge frosting filling, I made the recipe exactly as it was written. But, I found that the frosting was way too stiff. I thought it was spreading consistency until I started frosting the cake. I ended up taking the stuff off as most as I could and it just rolled off...so I put what I could get back off the cake back into the bowl and re- beat it while adding some milk...fixed. Since the too stiff frosting messed up a part of my cake, I frosted it, topped it with pecans and took some leftover chocolate fudge frosting, put it in the microwave until runny and drizzled it all over to hide the problem. Just an idea for you if you have this problem too. I think the problem was the 2 minutes to boil...make sure it is just under or 2 minutes only, not any longer than that. I think I went over 2 minutes by about 20 seconds or so and that is what made it too thick. Great frosting taste overall and what I was looking form.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
Im a buy a frozen already made pie and be done. My husband though kept mentioning he wanted a homemade apple pie,,since THANKSGIVING!! So, I thought I would do it and this recipe is the one I chose. Well, the carmel mixture cooked in the pan I think cooked too much because my husband decided while I was making it to make a sandwich and get in my way. grrrr!! Anyway, I used it in spite of that, used the refridgerated pie dough (I have never made pie crust, ever!) Anyway, other than that I made the recipe exactly except I don't know how to do the fancy lattice so I just cut a criss cross pattern over the top, pinched the top and bottom crusts together, caramel on top, baked as directed and the OOHS and AHHHS of my husband were worth everything. THANK YOU!!!

Sweet Potato Casserole IV

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
I had to try this for Christmas Dinner. I tried doing a shortcut and used drained sweet potatoes in a can. That was my mistake. Cooked Sweet Potatoes wont give you the extra water that occurs with using the ones in the can even when you drain them. The flavor was excellent and everyone loved them but the extra water made the texture what they weren't supposed to be so next time Im taking the time to peel and cook real sweet potatos and I bet it will be even more awesome....when my sister and son wanted to take home some leftovers, I had to watch that they didn't take all the crunchy pecan topping, lol This will be a staple for our holiday dinners. BYE BYE Marshmallow sweet potato dish!!

Mom's Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
I made this for Christmas Dinner. 1 16oz bag cooked elbow macaroni, 2 cans of the cheese soup, 1 can milk, 2 bags shredded colby jack (didn't have colby alone to choose) mixed it all together, topped with a few bread crumbs, baked and we ate every bit at the dinner and for leftovers. When it was gone we still wanted more. Excellent, easy and very very tasty! Thanks for the recipe. This one is a keeper!
