About this Cook
I'm a stay at home mom and I love to try new dishes. I don't like to bake because things never seem to come out right.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook casseroles or one skillet meals. I hate clean up. My husband is a good sport about trying new things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
One grandmother was from Kentucky and cooked Southern foods. My other grandmother was from Philadelphia and cooked Pennsylvania Dutch. I enjoyed "helping" both of them.
My cooking triumphs
I can take any recipe and turn it into a casserole. Doesn't sound like much but it's pretty exciting for us. Once my mom and I made a cake that took 3 days to make. Never again!!!!
My cooking tragedies
I made some kind of chicken with lemon and asparagus. It was awful. My husband and I threw it out and ordered pizza.

Bourbon Chicken
The only changes that I made were - I used chicken breast cut into bite sized pieces. Instead of baking them, I cooked them on the stovetop in a covered skillet with the marinade. When the chicken was done, I removed it and reduced the marinade to use as a sauce. My husband could not stop raving about it and requested that next time I double the recipe. Next time I think that I will cut back on the amount of brown sugar and used chopped garlic instead of garlic powder.
