I grew up in Saudi Arabia and moved to framingham, mass in 2007 with my family. I'm 20, and the first time i made anything in the kitchen (that i remember lol) is when i was 3.. I made chocolate chip cookies with mom. I learned how to bake from the best (mommy). I love it when people compliment my cooking. It gives me a sense of accomplishment (I can do something right!). I would love to go to culinary school, but yeah, I don't think dad will like that, so i'll wait till I can pay for it myself. My dream is to open up a cozy little nook (hole in the wall, whatever you want to call it) so those late nighters have somewhere to go to enjoy a good cup of coffee and a scone, muffin, etc.
My favorite things to cook
first and foremost, BAKED GOODS !! ever since I was 3 I was int he kitchen twice a week baking cookies and cakes, etc. I love cooking anything, and I'll try any recipe I can get my hands on. Once I perfect a dish, i begin alternating it, and modifying it to add my own personal touch.
My favorite family cooking traditions
During Ramadan, i would go to my aunt's house early in the day and cook with her all day. I learned a lot about Saudi Cuisine from her =).
My cooking triumphs
Every time someone says "oh my gosh, you must give me the recipe!"..
My cooking tragedies
First time cooking for an ex boyfriend, I made meatless lasagna, and it was terrible! (I was so nervous about making a good "cooking" impression that I messed up the layers and it was toooo cheesy. (Not that it mattered to me haha)
