My name is Margie. I am a 44 year old tax consultant and work at home. I have been cooking for over 35 years but recently got more into food preparation and baking which I enjoy very much. I also love my Mexican dishes that are a mixture of a California Mexican and a Texan Mexican my mother and grandmother. I also love to eat my creations! Most of my favorites are old time Mexican dishes with new ideas for adversity and great flavor such as enchiladas, chile relleno, and tamales. My favorite family cooking traditions are holiday foods we make. I love the atmosphere at Christmas time and the time and labor involved in making a giant pot of tamales for the whole family. We make meat and chili tamales as well as sweet which can be made of many different items. You can wrap just about anything inside a corn husk. My favorite sweet tamales are made with nuts and raisins and piloncillo which is mexican sugar. My favorite unsweet are jack cheese and jalapeno tamales they are absolutely deeeelicious.
