I mostly stick to basic family cooking. When I have time, I like to experiment with things I haven't made before. For Thanksgiving, I make a wonderful cake called Cotton Picking Cake. At Christmas I make a flourless chocolate cake that's out of this world. Holiday cakes--also, I love to make (and eat) finger foods. I'd go to a beheading if they were serving punch and cookies. I was making the dressing for Thanksgiving one year. When I made cornbread for the dressing, I mixed up the water and oil amounts and couldn't understand why the cornbread was so greasy. I went ahead and made the dressing--it tasted very OK and had an inch of oil on top. Everybody was nice and said it was fine, but nobody asked to take leftovers home.
