Pecan Sandies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
I loved these. When I was making these I was a little sceptical because they were so greasy. I forgot to roll them in sugar before baking and rolled them after. I couldn't believe how moist and delicious they are! I did cook them on parchment paper instead of a plan baking sheet. Otherwise no changes..it didn't need any!

Gooey Butter Cookies

These are really great. I didn't change a thing! Only thing mine made 48 cookies not 24. This was my first time making gooey butter cookies. I'm vey ahppy with this recipe! Other reviewers had trouble with moistness of the cake mix. I used a "moist ix with pudding in it" Super moist and tastey. Thanks!

Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
I came up with this recipes after trying so many different tortilla soup recipes. None really had enough flavor without being too hot. I think you'll enjoy the combinations of flavors. I made this for my husband and friends last night and everyone loved it. No more searching for a great tortilla soup recipe. I finally found it.

Potato Leek Soup III

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
I agree this was great. I disagree withe the 8 servings. This was just enough for my husband and I to have one large bowl each (about 4 cups). I made just a couple changes and additions. I used olive oil to saute my leeks then added about 2 tbsp. margarine (non hydroginated) for some flavor. I also used just under a cup of heavy cream and the rest milk. Add the best addition was about 1/2 cup white wine. This give it one more demension and it was lovely. I do mash my soup. I'm not a fan of this smooth. Personally, I like a little texture. I also use this for my clam chowder with the wine it's superb.

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
We love this! I needed a quick recipe to make and take to a party and I didn't want to go to the store and buy ingredients. Luckily I had the quinoa in the cabinet along with everything else. I'd been looking for a recipe that used quinoa and appealed to me for quite soem time. I was very pleased to stumble across this. It was quick and easy. I took another reviewers advice and soaked the quinoa for a bit. It was a big hit at the party. It does make a lot so we had leftovers. No one seemed to mind. My 4 year old and 1 year old both loved it. I've mad it again several times since and have enjoyed it each time. Depending on my taste for the day, I do add a bit more cumin and adjust the cayenne. If it's too hot the kids won't eat it. This is a great recipe and definitely recommend it!!

Easy Masoor Daal

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
I think this was tasty...I couldn't find red lentils it was still good with brown lentils. I have 2 small complaints. It was really salty and really hot. I added the full 1/2 tsp. and WOW! I was on fire. I'll definetly make it again, just less salt and less cayenne. I served it along side tandoori fish and with Naan.
