About this Cook
Nik and I have been married for a couple years now, and we have worked together to find common interests in food and find great recipes through this website to share together and with friends.
My favorite things to cook
We love cooking complicated dishes to show off to company, but for the most part we eat healthy, simple meals for day to day eating.
My cooking triumphs
Niks feta garlic prawns. If she'll ever share the secret, we'll post it. To die for. I also make fantastic meatloaf and love cooking with beef, chicken and pork. (I'm a man.. what can I say?) We make all our own stocks from scratch and aren't afraid of cooking anything. I've made some amzing dishes, and also failed from time to time. To me, the fun is in the experimentation.
My cooking tragedies
My first, uneducated attempt at curried beef. First time using a slow cooker, first time making curry. It was so bad even dogs wouldn't eat it. A starving refugee would rather stay starving. It was that bad. Nik's been brilliant though, except for one nasty pizza which burned on the bottom bad before she got used to our tempermental oven.

Egg Salad I
This is by far and away my favorite egg salad recipe. I have made this probably 20 times now, without any changes. I LOVE it! It has some kick to it, and tastes awesome. If I had one complaint, it would be that egg salad sandwiches from stores and restaurants no longer cut it.. it's just not nearly as good as this. I sincerely don't think I will ever, ever use another egg salad recipe. This is it, and it's great! Thanks for a great recipe! (made it again tonight :))

Best Bread Machine Bread
Excellent and oh so easy! Can use with the bread machine's dough cycle and use as dough for whatever you please. I have used it as dough for cooking a loaf in the oven, which makes a more "traditional" shaped loaf, and have also used it as a base dough for making pizza, cinnamon buns, dinner rolls, etc. You can use the "dough" cycle on your bread machine and the results are great. First time I used this recipe it tasted a little yeasty, but I had 3 year's expired yeast and had upped the yeast to compansate. After buying fresh yeast, followed the recipe exactly and have had great results ever since. Thanks!
