I got married very young and have been married for over 40 years. I have three beautiful children, 3 grandchildren and a new grandson on the way.
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new recipes and cooking tech. I love to use slow cooker so dinners are almost ready when I get home from work. I do casseroles, grilling, traditional american dishes, etc.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up most meals were from my mother's side which were Penn-dutch in origin. My father's family were pretty similar with Welsh influence. My mother loved to cook and was always trying new recipes passed between her friends and family members. I have recipes from my grandmas, my aunt Bonnie, my mother of course and my husbands family. My husbands father taught me most of their favorite recipes which were mainly Hungarian origin.
My cooking triumphs
I taught my self most cooking tech. I learned cake decorating even to the difficult wedding cakes.
My cooking tragedies
My first attempt at cream puffs (which my mother made regularly) were so hard you couldn't even cut into them. We tried to use them to feed the fish at a pond and the fish wouldn't even eat them. This was in our first month of marriage and I ahve since mastered them.
