I live with my husband, John and Son, Greg along with Jake & Jenny our Golden Retrievers and Peenut my longhaired Dachshund. Oh yes lets not forget Petey my parakeet. I work full time as an Assistant Operations Manager for a Medical Billing Company. I enjoy motorcycling with my husband either on my own bike or on the back of his especially for charity rides. My husband also likes to cook and is really great at preparing the main protein part of the meal while I prepare the sides. Together we make a great team and really enjoy having friends over for last minute cookouts or dinner parties as well as planning one big bash a year during the summer.
My favorite things to cook
I have to say when I do the cooking for the family my all time favorite thing to cook is anything in one of my slow cookers. Everything comes out so moist and flavorful and everyone enjoys it. I have four right now in all different sizes and I keep eyeing more every time I see them in the store. I'm known as the Crock Pot Queen :) My other favorite thing to do is to bake from desserts to main dishes. I find it so relaxing to bake and just love the delicious aroma in my home. My friends always asked me to bake when I offer to bring something to their home :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Traditions...other than using my slow cookers I don't think I have a specific item I cook all the time at any given time. I know when I bake the family comes running :)
My cooking triumphs
I think I'm an everyday cook so can't really say I have any triumphs worth mentioning here...well at least that I can think of. I guess making my own pea soup from scratch...of course in my crock pot! ha-ha. Considering I don't like pea soup, hubby says it came out great :)
My cooking tragedies
Tragedies for me is anytime I cook a frozen pizza! I don't know why but, I tend to forget its in there and it gets a bit TOO crispy. I do so much better when its something I've made from scratch than I do with prepared foods...hmm...maybe that's a hint I'm giving myself, aye?
