About this Cook
I am a full time web developer and a part time cook I would say. Cooking is a big hobby for me and enjoy every minute of it. My dad is a physical therapist and growing up I always said I wanted to be a PT during the week and chef on the weekends.
My favorite things to cook
Anything Italian, Mexican, or grilled. I really enjoy eating seafood but since my significant other doesn't care for it I rarely get to make any.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My roots are German-Russian, Irish, and Scandinavian. Although many foods could be under these categories I grew up with a majority of traditional German-Russian foods. Cream Chicken an dumplings has and always will be my favorite dish that Oma makes. We have always begged her for certain dishes such as Cream Chicken and Dumplings as well as Rahme Nudlen (Folded dough with cream inside, then fried, served with peaches).
My cooking triumphs
Making about 10 Kuchens for German class in High School. Easy but then that was a triumph. Mastering many basic cooking skills before graduating high school is a triumph I think for every male!
My cooking tragedies
I started a mixed for my first time making chocolate cupcakes. Most of the cocoa was mixed in thankfully but needless to say I didn't start slow! Chocolate batter on the walls, cabinets, floor, fridge, THE DOG!! It was bad!

Smoky Mountain Chipotle Chicken
Awesome Flavor! It is winter here and therfore our grill is put away so I cooked them most of the way in the pan and then put them in the oven for 5 minutes and then broiled for another 5 or so minutes. My oven crank at 500 too. Can't wait to try this on the grill, the natural smoke will add so much more as well as the true char on the edges of the chicken!
