I'm a 66yr. old mother of two and grandmother of six. I live by myself in my own home. I find cooking to be very relaxing and I love sharing my food with family and friends. I love to play Bingo and I enjoy a day at a Casino (money permiting)! I enjoy many Italian recipes that my mother passed onto me. As a young girl I watched my mother bake and cook daily meals as well as holiday tradtional meals and I enjoyed eating all of them. I still carry on many of the traditional recipes that she made, plus some new ones that I find on line. Holiday cooking, Christmas Eve is celebrated at my younger brother's home in the same city as myself along with my other brother and his family and mine. We usually have a meal of homemade squid sauce over pasta, stuffed artichokes, homemade garlic pizza, fried calamari, fried smelts, shrimp and veggie platter, and we bread and fry delicious veal cutlets. For dessert, I make an homemade Italian cheese cake and my sister-in-law has as assortment of homemade cookies that she has prepared. A wonderful tradition that we have carried on since my brothers and I were small, only the family members have changed!! I don't know if if I would call them triumphs, but I get many compliments on my pies. I love to bake apple pies and all berry pies and my pumpkin pie is the favorite of both my son and my daughter. I make my younger brother and my son very happy when I bake my chocolate chip cookies. I love baking all types of cookies, pies and cakes. One time I attempted to make tuna burgers and they were a disaster. To this day, I don't remember what I did wrong, but I never attempted to make them again. If something doesn't come out just right, I scrap it and start all over again until I get it right.
