Cafe/Art gallery owner, living life on the edge. Love to break free from the work load and scuba any place tropical. In the meantime, yoga keeps me centered.
My favorite things to cook
Love to make Italian dishes and soup.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was very young my grandmother & mother would have me help knead to dough for pula. This sweet bread is a social staple in Finland and it is served with coffee to guests.
My cooking triumphs
A prime rib finished with a standing ovation.
I make a daily soup for my cafe. It usually is something I conger up and a regular customer said that it didn't matter what soup I had made that day, it is always great!
My cooking tragedies
Something oriental that had orange and beef. I used way too much rind and the cut of meat - well the flavor was way off. NO ONE ate it, including myself. The other unedible meal was a Smithfield Ham. It took 3 days to prepare it to cook, with all the soaking and draining. When it came out of the oven, it smelled so wonderful, but one taste and it was gagsville.
