About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
All of my mom's recipes. I have 3 older siblings. My mom had to make the most of the food budget, so she made alot of one pot meals and recipes from my grandmother that began with: 1# ground beef. You could feed an army by the time she was done, and most of it was pretty good. Everytime we all get together, we mention what we miss from my mom the most. The response is usually "Awww man, I miss that stuff". My sister and I usually make my mom's Christmas cookie recipes too.

My cooking triumphs
My mom never let me do any cooking when I was growing up. I can affectionately say she was a control freak! I straightened my act out in cooking school and learned the reasons behind some of my moms methods and madness. Some of it turned out to be passed down vintage habits with no basis, but I had plenty of "oh Yeah" moments as well. She was a brilliant woman. Oh, and after I started culinary school in my late 20's, she finally let me in the kitchen to cook on the weekends for her.
My cooking tragedies
There were many tragedies before the triumphs! That's what cooking school did for me.
