About this Cook
I am one person split in two. Love nature & natural things, I love clothes. Always conscious of going 'green', strive to do better that way, I would secretly love to be wasteful for just 1 day. I have 2 part time businesses, electrolysis & sewing...again, 2 definate ends of the stick! I am a creative person by nature, sewing & selling my bags that my beautiful daughter & I designed (thatsmybagbaby.ca) . I love to write in my spare time too.
My favorite things to cook
baking by far...almost any kind of desert. For meals I am a lazy cook...very basic, but lots of variety. I'm lucky I am married to a man ho will eat anything I put in front of him, & too often that's no supper at all, so he'll cook for himself!
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was a teenager, back in the 70's my beloved grandmother announced that this was the time in my life that I should be getting acquainted with pastry recipes & find one that worked well with me. Well, as much as I would have loved to follow her advice, I'd weigh 100 lbs more than I do already if that were the case. Sorry Grandma, but mine would never be as good as yours anyhow!
My cooking triumphs
When I do knock myself out & actually cook a whole meal, I fancy that, this in itself is a triumph. I can hold my own in the kitchen. My mother thinks I'm a good cook, that should stand for something!
My cooking tragedies
I dropped the Christmas turkey...right out of the oven...there it lay in the middle of the kitchen floor.. in front (the worst!) of both my mom & mother-in-law. Mortified doesn't describe the scene. Mouth agape, we looked at each other, then histerically started to laugh. My savings Grace was that it fell bottom side down...who eats the bottom of a turkey anyhow?

Very Best Blueberry Cobbler!
I used 4 cups of fresh blueberries & 1/2 cup sugar on them. Overall the taste was good, but the blueberry base was too dry for my liking. I guess more sugar would have made a syrup, but didnt want it too sweet. I'll add vanilla yogurt to my portion & it should be delish!

Peanut Butter Ice Cream Topping
I went with VOODOOMISS's suggestion & made this recipe with 1/3 c. sugar, 1/3 c water, then 2/3 c. pb. After I stirred to blend, I just used a whisk to fluff it up. Turned out exactly how i wanted it to.

Can't Tell They're Low-fat Brownies
Good thing this recipe is low fat because 10 hours later, all that's left is a pan for me to wash! I added an extra 1/2 T of cocoa & substituted whole wheat flour for A/P & melted butter for vegetable oil. The result were chewy, extra moist brownines with less guilt. I've already saved it o my recipe box!
